Entry of vehicles from outside states will become costlier by Rs 10 to 50 in Himachal

In Himachal Pradesh, the entry fee for vehicles with license plates from outside states has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 from April 1. The 24-hour entry fee charged from various categories of vehicles at toll barriers has been increased for the financial year 2024-25. Heavy goods vehicles will now have to pay Rs 550 instead of Rs 500. Passenger vehicles with 6 to 12 seats will have to pay Rs 100 and those with more than 12 seats will have to pay Rs 160. Private vehicle drivers will now have to pay Rs 60 instead of Rs 50.

The Tax and Excise Department has fixed the entry fee rates for 55 toll barriers falling under the state. In the category of goods vehicles, vehicles weighing 250 quintals or more will now have to pay a fee of Rs 700 to enter the state. This fee will also be collected from these vehicles registered in Himachal along with heavy goods vehicles with numbers from outside states.

Quarterly and annual passes will be made on the basis of the entry fee fixed for the financial year 2024-25. Now Rs 550 for heavy goods vehicles carrying 120 to 250 quintals, Rs 300 for 90 to 120 quintal vehicles, Rs 160 for vehicles carrying 20 to 90 quintals, Rs 120 for small goods vehicles carrying less than 20 quintals and Rs 120 for tractors, private or public. Rs 60 will be charged.
